Make a Transmission Measurement

1. Connect the equipment as shown in
cable such as the one that was supplied with your analyzer.
The quality of the cable will affect these measurements; make sure you
use a cable with the characteristics described in
page 2-10.
Equipment Setup for Performing the Operator's Check
2. Press PRESET
Enter .
3. Press
POWER
4. Press Default Response
CAL
5. Verify that the data trace falls within ±0.5 dB of 0 dB. See
for a typical HP 8714ET result. The HP 8712ET should look similar,
but end at 1300 MHz.
