Configuring an IP Telephony Server at a Branch Office
Before you install a branch office IP Telephony server, you must modify
the regional office firewall software to permit traffice from the branch
office server. Log in to the Authentication and Directory (Data) server in
the regional office and enter this command for each branch office server
that you install:
modfw -p oracle allow <IP address of branch office server>
Before you install a branch office IP Telephony server, you must also set up
a database schema on the regional office Authentication and Directory
server. This schema acts as a replica of the branch office server's database
schema and must be set up prior to the installation of the branch office
server.
CAUTION: If you previously tried to set up a branch office IP Telephony
server without first setting up the replica database on the regional office
Authentication and Directory server, you may have to drop database
replication by logging in on the regional Authentication and Directory
server as cworks and entering these commands:
cd /opt/3com/VCX/vcxdata/bin
./dropReplication
To set up a branch office schema on the regional Authentication and
Directory server:
1 Log in on the regional Authentication and Directory (Data) server as
cworks and enter these commands:
cd /opt/3com/VCX/vcxdata/bin
./installVcxdata
