CAM CHAIN TENSIONER
For driving the four camshafts three cam chain
tensioners are used on the respective cam drive
chains. Unlock the rachet mechanism, and move
the push rod in place to see if it slides smoothly.
If any stickiness is noted or rachet mechanism is
faulty, replace the chain tensioner assembly with a
new one.

CAM CHAIN 20-PITCH LENGTH
Pull the chain tight to remove any slack, then using
vernier calipers, measure the 20-pitch length of
cam chain. If it measures more than limit, replace
the cam chain/idle shaft chain.

161.0 mm (6.34 in)
CAM CHAIN GUIDE
NOTE:
When replacing following chain guides, apply
SUZUKI Thread lock cement "1361A" to
screws thread.
