Engine oil

Introduction
The engine has been filled ex-factory with a high-grade oil that can be used
throughout the year (except in extreme climate zones).
We recommend that the oil changes be carried out by a ŠKODA Service Part-
ner.
The engine oil should be changed at specified service intervals
The engine uses up some oil, depending on driving style and operating condi-
tions (up to 0.5 l / 1 000 km). Consumption may be slightly higher than this
during the first 5 000 km.
WARNING
The following instructions must be followed at all times when working on
the engine compartment

CAUTION
Do not add any additives to the engine oil - risk of engine damage.
Note
We recommend that you use oils from ŠKODA Original Accessories.

Engine oil VW 505 01 can optionally be used in diesel engines without a DPF.
CAUTION
If none of the engine oils listed in the table are available, other oils can be
used instead. To prevent engine damage, a maximum of 0.5 l of engine oil with
the following specifications may be used until the next oil change:
Petrol engines: ACEA A3/ACEA B4 or API SN, (API SM);
Diesel engines: ACEA C3 or API CJ-4.
