Data connection via CarStick
The requirement for correct operation is a mini SIM card inserted in the
CarStick (standard size 25x15 mm), with activated data services. The Carstick
device supports the wireless network with the 2G and 3G standard.
To connect, proceed as follows.

Switch on the ignition and the Infotainment system.
›
Insert the CarStick, with inserted SIM card, in the front USB port
›
Wait until the light on the Carstick is permanently illuminated.
›
Observe the infotainment screen and, if necessary, configure the required
network of the data service provider.
›
If the SIM card is protected by a PIN code, enter the PIN code of the SIM
card.
›
Confirm the entered PIN code.

If you would like to save the entered PIN code in the device memory, then
tap the function surface to save the PIN code and confirm it at the same
time.

CAUTION
If you insert a SIM card of the wrong size, there is a risk of damage to the
CarStick device.

SmartLink offers the option of displaying and operating certified applications
on an external device connected via USB on the Infotainment screen.
SmartLink supports the following communication systems.

Using the applications in the connected external device, you can use naviga-
tion, make a call and listen to music.
For safety reasons, the operation of some applications while driving is not pos-
sible or only limited.
Depending on the model of the connected external device, some applications
can be started using voice activation, via the Infotainment screen, using the In-
fotainment system's operating elements, or using the buttons on the multi-
function steering wheel.
To activate voice control for the connected external device, hold the
button or hold down the button on the multifunction steering wheel.
