Replacing the Air Filter on the SRX240 Services Gateway on page 121
The SRX240 Services Gateway High Memory with DC Power Supply model and SRX240
Services Gateway High Memory with AC Power Supply model has one air filter that installs
vertically in the rear of the chassis. The air filter is hot-insertable and hot-removable.
NOTE:
An air filter is not shipped with the SRX240 Services Gateway High
Memory with AC Power Supply model. To meet NEBS requirements, you
must order the air filter separately. Contact your Juniper Networks customer
service representative for more information.
The air filter is located in the rear of the chassis on left side (from rear side view). The air
filter weighs approximately 0.2 lb (0.09 kg).
CAUTION:
Do not run NEBS-compliant services gateways (the SRX240
Services Gateway with DC Power Supply model and the SRX240 Services
Gateway with AC Power Supply models) for more than a few minutes without
the air filter in place.
CAUTION:
Always keep the air filter in place while the device is operating,
except during replacement. Because the fans are very powerful, they could
pull small bits of wire or other materials into the device through the unfiltered
air intake. This could damage the services gateway components.
To replace the air filter:
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect
1.
the other end of the ESD strap to the ESD point on the rack.
Loosen the thumb-screw on the air filter. See
