ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the drive sprocket setting plate bolts.
Align the drive sprocket setting plate tooth and
countershaft tooth, then remove the drive sprocket
setting plate.
Remove the drive sprocket.

CAUTION:
Do not support the engine using the oil filter.
NOTE:
• Support the motorcycle safety stand or a hoist.
• A floor jack or adjustable support is required to
support and maneuver the engine. The jack height
must be continually adjusted to relieve stress for
ease of bolt removal.
Drain the engine oil (page 3-12) and radiator coolant
(page 6-5).
