Change engine oil and filter (includes draining crankcase breather hose)
Inspect air cleaner and filter element, service as required
Change rear belt and rear sprocket
Check clutch adjustment
Change transmission/primary chain case lubricant and clean drain plug—See
dealer
Check/adjust primary chain
Inspect brake pad linings and discs for wear (front and rear)
Change rear brake pads and rear brake pins
Check brake fluid reservoir levels and condition
Check rear brake pedal operation
Inspect oil lines and brake system for leaks
Lubricate front brake hand lever, throttle control cables, clutch control cables (and
hand lever) and side stand
Lubricate and adjust steering head bearings
Check operation and throttle control
Inspect fuel valve, lines and fittings for leaks
Clean fuel tank filter screen
Check operation of all electrical equipment & switches including starter interlock
Check battery and clean connections
Change spark plug
Check tire pressure and inspect tread
Check wheel bearings*
Change front fork oil
Check stabilizer links and engine mounts
Check tightness of all critical fasteners: hand controls, brake system, axle nuts,
front fork components, riser and handle bar fasteners.
Check rear shock absorber
Check ignition timing
Check engine idle speed
Inspect exhaust system hardware; including muffler strap
Road test
* Whenever wheel is removed (tire change, fork fluid change, etc.)
