4.3.4 DDNS

Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) allows a host name to be constantly synchronized with a
dynamic IP address. In other words, it allows those using a dynamic IP address to be associated to a
static domain name so others can connect to it by name.
PLANET Easy DDNS is a way help to get your Domain Name with just one click. You can just login to
the Web Management Interface of your devices, check the DDNS menu and just enable it.
Once you enable the Easy DDNS, your PLANET Network Device will use the format PLxxxxxx where
xxxxxx is the last 6 characters of your MAC address that can be found on the Web page or bottom label
of the device. (For example, 00-30-4F-77-88-17, it will be converted into PL778817.planetddns.com)
