H A P T E R An Overview of the Alti-IP 600 The Alti-IP 600 is an H.323-compliant, business telephone that provides voice communication over an IP network. If you are using Gatekeeper Auto Discovery, you do not need to configure anything. Proceed to Step 6. If you are not using Gatekeeper Auto Discovery, you must manually configure the AltiWare IP address setting into the Alti-IP 600. Refer to “Configuring IP Settings” on page 24. Activate the IP Extension Once the device is initialized, the user must follow these steps to activate the IP Extension.
The steps for plug and play setup will vary depending on whether or not the Alti-IP 600 Phone has been started. When the Alti-IP 600 is started for the first time, it can support plug and play to enable the phone to automatically register itself to AltiServ.
