2.6 HARD DISK DRIVE PROBLEM
ISOLATION PROCEDURES
This section describes how to determine if the hard disk drive is defective. Start with
PROCEDURE 1 and continue with the other procedures as instructed. The procedures
described in this section are:
PROCEDURE 1: Logical Format Check
PROCEDURE 2: Test Program Check
PROCEDURE 3: Connector Check
CAUTION: The contents of the hard disk will be erased by performing the HDD
problem isolation procedures. Before continuing, transferthe contents of
the hard disk to floppy disks. This can be done with the MS-DOS BACK-
UP command. (See the MS-DOS manualfor details.)
