Format Check
Prepare a new floppy disk by fonnatting it using the MS-DOS FORMAT command.
If the floppy disk does not fonnat correctly, check the following items.

Check 2
Check 3

Check that the FDD indicator lights. Ifitdoes not light, perfonn PROCEDURE
3. If it lights, perfonn Check 2.
Check that the MS-DOS FORMAT command was used correctly.
When the media type is 2DD, use the FORMAT/3 command.
When the media type is 2HD, use the FORMAT command.
If the FORMAT command was used correctly, perfonn Check 3.
If the FORMAT command was not used correctly,
try
again. If the problem
still exists, perfonn Check 3.
Clean thereadlwrite head using the 3.5-inch FDD cleaning kit. If the problem
still exists, perfonn PROCEDURE 2.
