5.2.3 CMOS Image Sensor Calibration

The procedure of the CMOS Image Sensor Calibration is described below.
Purpose
To adjust the "Quick Setup" function, when replacing the IS Board Assy, or the Optical
Engine and MAB set.
Setting Environment
• Use a darkroom with the environment where no external light shines on the CMOS
Image Sensor.
• Use a white matt coated screen in the size of 70 inch and more.
• Use a screen without distortion or dirt.
• No foreign materials (tape or some reflective things) within the projected image (with
Zoom Ring set to Wide most) and in the outside of 40 cm left/right and 5cm above/
below. (refer to
• Do not input any visual signal. (Adjust the projector without any signals.)
• There must be no strongly reflective things in front of the projector, such as a desk or a
fixing metal or the like. In the case that there are such things, be sure to cover them
somehow such as covering them with a blackout curtain.
• Set the projector with all the feet fully stowed onto the even workbench with no inclina-
tion (standard: allowed inclination within 2° forward/backward/Left/Right)
• Set the projector straight to the screen. (set the axis of the projectinon lens perpendicular
to the screen; allowed horizontal slant within 2°. To adjust the slant level with the pro-
jected image on the screen, adjust the difference of the length of the left side and the right
side within 5mm.)
