Purpose

obtain a MAC address first, among
other things.
Auto-registration is not

supported when security is
implemented.
Not necessary if you plan to add
phones to the Cisco CallManager
database using auto-registration
only or in conjunction with the
Tool for Auto-Registered Phones
Support (TAPS).
You can determine a phone's MAC
address in these ways:
From the phone, choose

MAC Address field.
Display the phone's web page
