To install the ENCAD V/R Xpress RIP:

Insert the V/R Xpress CD into the CD drive on your computer and
click on V/R Xpress 2.0.

The software installation wizard displays and prompts you with
instructions for installing the RIP.

At the Add CADJET 3D Printer dialog box, the software installation
wizard will prompt you to enter a name in the Printer Name field.
Enter CJ3D or any name you want. If you are using the print server,
in the Port field enter the printer server's port
(\\192.0.0.194\binary_p1). If you are connected directly to your
printer using an IEEE 1284 parallel cable, select LPT1.

To load sample images, click on Sample Images.
Heidi driver
The Heidi driver lets you print to ENCAD plotters from within AutoCAD 2000.
We recommend that you install the driver without setting any printer-specific
features during installation. Once installation is complete, you can configure the
driver to your requirements. Assistance with configuration and use of AutoCAD
2000 is found in extensive on-line Help files, which include videos.

To install the Heidi 2000 driver:

Insert the System CD into the CD drive on your computer.

Follow the onscreen instructions to locate the driver and launch the
installation program.

If you have a previous version of the ENCAD Heidi driver, a dialog will
display asking if you want to overwrite the previous files. Click YES
TO ALL. Then click OK after the files are installed.

Start AutoCAD 2000.

From the File menu, select Plotter Manager. Then double-click on
Add-A-Plotter-Wizard.

After reviewing the Introduction Page, click NEXT.

In the Begin dialog, accept the default, My Computer, and click
NEXT.
