1. Maximum Throttle at Idle (Forward)
a) Use the control head to put the port engine in forward gear.
b) Very slowly increase throttle until the engine RPM increases.
Note the maximum throttle percentage at which the engine is
still at idle. (The RPM and throttle percentage are displayed
in the boxes as shown in figure 9-7).
c) Enter the value in the Port Idle Forward Throttle.

2. Maximum Joystick Throttle (Forward)
a) Slowly increase throttle until the engine reaches approximately
1800 RPM.
b) Enter the throttle percentage in Port Max Forward Throttle.
3. Maximum Throttle at Idle (Reverse)
a) Put the port engine in reverse gear.
b) Very slowly increase throttle and note the maximum throttle
percentage at which the engine is still at idle.
c) Enter the value in Port Idle Reverse Throttle.
4. Maximum Joystick Throttle (Reverse)
a) Slowly increase throttle until the engine reaches the maximum
desired RPM for joystick operation. This will be either:
i. the maximum throttle just before cavitation, or
ii. if cavitation does not occur, the maximum throttle for
comfortable use.
b) Enter the throttle percentage in the Port Max Reverse Throttle
field. Write down the corresponding RPM in the
adjacent table – you will use it in STEP 3.
c) Return the engine to neutral.
5. Repeat the preceding steps for the starboard engine. Be sure you
are entering the throttle percentages in the correct boxes for the
starboard values.
6. Click write to save the values.
