    2.0 SySTEM OVErVIEW 2.1 System Description The Optimus 360 Joystick Control System builds on the base Optimus Electronic Power Steering (EPS) system. It uses the same helm, PCM, power steering pumps, service valves and smart steering cylinders. It also operates using the same CANbus networks (CAN1, CAN2, and the optional CAN3).

    The installation of the Optimus 360 system falls into two parts, component installation and system calibration, purging and setup. If you are new to installing an Optimus 360 system it can be helpful tip: to think of the process as adding a joystick to an installed Optimus EPS system.

    SeaLInG pLuGS muSt be InStaLLed on aLL unuSed can1 portS. The Evinrude ICON shift and throttle system and the Optimus 360 system connect together through the CAN2 network. Because the ICON network uses 6-pin connectors, rather than the 5-pin DeviceNet connectors used by CAN2, adapter harnesses are required to connect the two networks together.
