Ln
Line Loopback (LLB): A loopback in the local CSU which faces the T1
network port.
Use this option to allow a network technician to test from a remote
site (or from within the telco network). With Line Loopbacks, incoming
signals are looped around and sent back toward the network. The
service provider or far end technician can then determine if the T1 line
is good.
Pn
Payload Loopback (PLB): A loopback in the local CSU which faces the
T1 network port. A Payload Loopback tests more of the CSU hardware
than a Line Loopback.
Use this option to test the CSU from the far-end node. In this case, the
data goes through the DIDCSU framer before it is looped back toward
the network
Rn
Local Loopback (RLB): A loopback near the T1 network port which
faces the local CSU. DTE connected behind the DIDCSU should receive
its own data stream.
Use this option if you want to test the data interface. Also known as a
Repeater Loopback, the data sent from the data equipment passes
through the CSU up to the network interface and back to the
equipment without passing through the T1 line.
