Command
Sn
FDL Standard: Specify if you want to use the Bellcore 54016 standard,
the ANSI T1.403 standard, or both (BOTH is recommended).
Mn
FDL Mode: Specify TERM (Terminated) if you want to end the FDL
transmission at this node. Specify PASS if you want the FDL transmission
to continue to another node. PASS is not yet supported.
• Poll Mode: Specify if you want FDL to poll for alarms at the far end.
Pn
• Poll: The near-end CSU automatically polls the far-end CSU for alarms
every 4 seconds and report these alarms.
• No Poll: This disables alarm polling at both ends. Select this option
when the nodes at both ends are connected and both nodes report
local alarms.
• Unsolicit: The far-end automatically sends its alarm status (when it
detects an LOS) to the near-end. Select this option for far-end CSU
circuit element when the near-end CSU is set to Poll.
Cn
PRM C/R bit: Performance Report Message Command/Response as
defined in the ANSI T1.403 specification.
Specify User to set the bit to 0, indicating that you are the PRM source
terminal. Specify TELCO to set the bit to 1, indicating that the phone
company is the PRM source. Phone companies usually set it to Telco, non
phone companies set it to User. To disable this option, choose None.
In
Idle Pattern: Use this option to select the idle pattern code when there is
no user data on the net. Depending on your network or telco, choose
either the All-ones or Flags option.
The signal you choose is transmitted continuously until a message is
sent. Once the message completes transmission, it reverts to the signal
of choice:
• All-ones signal: 11111111.
• Flags signal: 01111110.
An
Send/Rec LLB BOP: Use this option to enable the Line Loopback Bit-
Oriented Protocol (LLB BOP) if you want to use FDL loopbacks to test the
T1 line (ESF only).
Bn
Send/Rec PLB BOP: Use this option to enable the Payload Loopback Bit-
Oriented Protocol (PLB BOP) if you want to use FDL loopbacks to test the
far-end CSU (ESF only).
X
Exit the FDL Configuration Menu.
