After approximately 30 seconds, the handset idle display appears. Basic handset configuration is
complete.

Change the Handset Display Name and PIN Code

After configuring the handsets, change the default username and the default PIN code to prevent
unauthorized access. Note that the handset PIN code and the web configuration password are
independent of each other. If you change the handset PIN code it does not affect the web
configuration password.
To change the Display Name:
1. From Idle mode, press the OK key, select Settings, and then press the OK key.
2. Select System settings and press the OK key. When prompted for a PIN code, enter the PIN
code (default 0000), and then press the OK key.
3. Select Handset settings and press OK.
4. Select Handset name and press OK.
5. Use the Erase key to delete the existing default name (for example, Handset 1).
6. Enter the handset display name using the dial pad keys. To enter spaces and special characters,
press Options and then press Insert symbols. Ensure that the handset display name is the
same as the name that appears in the User Configuration form of the MCD for the handset
directory number.
7. Press OK. Save is displayed. Press Yes.
To change the PIN Code:
1. From Idle mode, press the OK key, choose Settings, and then press the OK key.
2. Choose VoIP settings and press the OK key. When prompted for a PIN code, enter the PIN
code (default 0000), and then press the OK key.
3. Choose Change PIN code and press the OK key.
4. Enter a new 3 to 8-digit PIN code.
5. Press the OK key. Save appears in the display.
6. Press Yes to save the PIN code.
7. For future reference, record the new PIN code.
