7. MAINTENANCE

The purpose of the maintenance and adjustment schedule is to keep the
generator in the best operating condition.

xhaust gas contains carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide (NOx), and

ydrocarbons. It is very important to control the emissions of NO
h
ydrocarbons as they are a major contributor to air pollution. Carbon monoxide
is a poisonous gas. The emission of fuel

our engine has been designed to meet current Environmental Protection
Agency (EP
A) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) clean air

tandards. The regulations dictate that the manufacturer provide operation and

aintenance standards regarding the emission control system. Tune up
s
pecifications are provided in the Specifications section and a description of
th
e emission control system may be found in the appendix to this manual,

dherence to the following instructions will ensure your engine meets the
e
mission control standards.
