8. TRANSPORTING/STORAGE

a . When transporting the generator, turn the fuel valve lever OFF and keep the
g enerator level to prevent fuel spillage. Fuel vapor or spilled fuel may ignite.
D o not transport the generator in a vehicle with fuel in the tank.
b. Exercising the generator
It is essential that the generator be exercised on a regular basis. This will
prevent the accumulation of varnis
re move moisture from the generator windings. Additionally, seals and other
m oving engine parts are kept lubricated and the battery is recharged.
E xercise the generator by running it with at least a 1/2 load (1500W) for 60
m inutes per month. G

replacement of the carburetor
c . Before storing the unit for an extended period:
1 . Ensure the storage area is free of excessive humidity and dust.
2 . Drain the fuel
A . Open the left side maintenance cover.
B . Turn fuel valve lever to ON and then loosen the carburetor drain screw.
D rain the gasoline from the carburetor and fuel tank into a suitable container.

3. Once a month, recharge the battery
4. Change the engine oil.
5 . Remove the spark plug and pour one tablespoon of clean engine oil into the
cylinder. Crank the engine
