TROUBLE SHOOTING YOUR

ULTRA COOKER
(Before calling Customer Service)
I can't open the lid.
The pressure has not been released.
Using the silicone mitt, turn pressure release valve "up" to release.
While inspecting my valves, I noticed the pressure indicator rod is stuck in down position
The valve needs to slide easily as the lid is tipped back and forth. If this does not happen,
there must be food residue making the valve stick. Cleaning with a toothpick slide through
vent to free the valve.
I can't close the lid.
Check the gasket it may need to be reversed. Arrow on the gasket should point down away
from the lid. Is the gasket smoothly fitting into the grooves of the lid? If not, run your fingers
around the gasket with a little pressure to make sure that it is snugly fitting in the grooves.
Now check the pressure indicator valve by poking gently to assure it is working properly.
Lastly, check to see if the pressure release valve is in the "release up" position.
I heard a strange noise like a "puff".
No need for concern, your cooker is just adjusting between cycles.
The food isn't thoroughly cooked.
Were your measurements correct? For example, was the proportion of the rice-to-water
correct?
Did you open and close the lid frequently? It is not recommended to open the lid during
cooking times which have been previously set. Was the pressure release valve open or
closed? Check that the pressure release valve is in the down pressure release position and
not up for release.
A jet of steam erupted from the pressure release valve.
The pressure release valve is in the "up" release position. Turn it to the "down" seal position.
