CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Unplug and let the Ultra Cooker cool to room temperature before cleaning.
2. Wash the removable cooking pot with warm soapy water and a clean soft cloth or sponge.
Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
NOTE: After cooking rice or larger pot meals, some cooking liquid may pool under the lid at
the top of the unit around the cooking pot. This is normal. Use a paper towel or kitchen cloth
to clean after every use. Use small brush or cotton swab if necessary.
3. Removable of gasket and release valve. (See Fig.12)
4. Gently pull the silicone gasket out from under the gasket holder. (See Fig. 11)

Check periodically to make sure that it is clean, flexible and not cracked or torn. If damaged,
do not use this appliance. Contact your local distributor or Carico for replacement parts
and cost.
NOTE: There are 6 triangular metal cut-out grips around the inside of the lid that keep the
plastic gasket holder in place.
5. To remove the plastic gasket holder, turn the holder clockwise so that grips are positioned
over the holder's cut-outs. (See Fig. 12) Remove the gasket holder by pulling straight up and
out of the lid. (See Fig. 13)
6. Wash gasket and holder in warm, soapy water. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
The silicone gasket and holder may be washed in the top rack of a dishwasher to eliminate
odors from spices and food.
7. Wash the inside of the lid with a wet, soapy sponge or cloth. Use a brush to remove oil
residue if necessary. Wipe dry with a clean, damp cloth.
8. Remove the pressure release valve cover from the lid by twisting and lifting up and off the
cooker lid. Check valve for blockage and use a toothpick if necessary to remove blockage.
Rinse well and replace.
9. Check the pressure indicator valve for blockage from underneath the lid. Grasping the rod's
mini-gasket, inspect to make sure it is in good condition, and test that the rod moves up and
down freely.
DO NO REMOVE EITHER THE ROD OR THE MINI GASKET.
