CLEANING THE ULTRA COOKER

To maintain the beauty and cooking efficiency of this Ultra Cooker, it is important that it be
cleaned thoroughly after each use. Food films left on the interior cooking surface will cause dis-
coloration when the cooker is reheated.
Although durable, stainless steel is not indestructible. Pitting may result if salt remains in the
interior pot. Salt should be added just before serving foods. Liquids should be stirred immedi-
ately to completely dissolve the salt. Do not allow seasoned foods or high acid foods to remain
in the interior pot for long periods.
Allow cooker to cool before cleaning. Always detach the cord before cleaning.
IMPORTANT:
Clean interior pot in hot soapy water with a sponge, dishcloth or nylon pad (not plastic). Do not
use a metal scouring pad, any sharp edge utensil such as a knife or abrasive scouring powder
on the stainless steel finish. Rinse the interior pot thoroughly with clear hot water. Dry prompt-
ly to prevent water spots. Wipe electric cord with a damp cloth, and dry thoroughly.
Persistent overheating may cause blue or brown heat tints inside your cooker. Stains may also
result from minerals in certain foods. To remove both heat tints and stains, make a paste with
water and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner. There are various types of non-abrasive stain-
less steel cleansers that can be found at most supermarkets. (We only recommend use on the
interior stainless steel cooking pot.) Do not use a cleanser which contains chlorine bleach.
Apply paste with a cloth or sponge and rub lightly in a circular motion. Wash interior pot again,
rinse then dry promptly.
Remove minor scratches from the stainless steel cooking pot with a non-abrasive stainless steel
cleaner, following the instructions above. To prevent scratches, do not cut, scrape or chop food
with sharp-edged kitchen tools in your stainless steel interior pot.
