Easy Pot Roast

4 lbs. Beef chuck roast
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 Package of dried onion soup
1 Can of beef broth (14.5 ounce) or water
1. Using the "Browning Function" heat olive oil in the interior pot.
2. Add the meat to hot oil and sauté until brown.
3. Remove meat and set aside.
4. Add dried onion soup mix and liquid, stir.
5. Return meat to the pot.
Close lid and lock setting Pressure Release Valve to the "down pressure" position. Turn the
pressure control to "High"- Press the "Meat" function button and then press start. Cooker
will automatically choose the correct cooking time. When roast is finished the cooker will
shut off automatically and go into a warming mode – four dashes will appear on the front
panel (----). Allow pressure to drop naturally, when the release valve drops it is safe to open
the cooker.
Steak Pizzaiolli
4 lbs. Beef chuck roast
1 Can diced tomatoes with juice (15 ounces)
1 Package mushrooms sliced, (8 ounces)
3 Garlic cloves, minced
1 Medium onion, chopped
1/4 Cup of coarsely chopped fresh basil leaves
(You may substitute with 1 Tablespoon dry basil)
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Using the "Browning Function" heat olive oil in the interior pot.
2. Add the meat to hot oil and sauté until brown.
3. Remove meat and set aside.
4. Add dried onion, and mushrooms and brown until all the vegetables are tender.
5. Add the tomatoes with their juice, wine, and basil.
6. Return meat to the pot.
