Setup for Polling Transmit

Polled Transmit is when you set up your FAX/MFC to wait with a document so
another FAX/MFC can retrieve it.

Place document to be retrieved in feeder.

Press Menu/Set, 3, 8.
The screen displays:

Press or
press Menu/Set.

Press 1 to select DOC if you want your machine to scan the printed document at the
time it is polled—OR—Press 2 to select MEMORY.

Press 1 if you want to select additional
settings. The display returns to the Setup Send
menu—OR—Press 2 if you are finishing
choosing settings and go to Step 6.

Press Start. The screen displays POLLED WAITING.
If you pressed 1 in Step 4, the printed document remains in the ADF until your
machine is polled. However, you can "interrupt" it to send another fax.

Setup for Polling Transmit with Secure Code

When you set POLLED:SECURE to on, anyone who polls your machine must enter
the polling ID number.

Enter a four-digit number and press
Menu/Set.

Press 1 to select DOC if you want your machine to scan the printed document at the
time it is polled—OR—Press 2 to select MEMORY.

Press 1 if you want to select additional settings. The display returns to the Setup Send
menu—OR—Press 2 if you are finished choosing settings and go to Step 8.

Press Start and wait for the fax to be polled.
