Cutter Motor Control Circuit

As shown in Figure 3–29, the cutter motor control circuit has an H-bridge
configuration. Each vertical leg of the H-bridge is composed of one PNP and one
NPN transistor, as shown in Figure 3–29.
If CPS0 = 1 when ON/OFF = 1, and F/R (forward/reverse) = 1, Q

turn on,

and the motor rotates forward. The cutter that has moved to the front side is detected
by cutter sensor 0, and when CPS0 = 0, the motor stops. In the same way, if CPS1 =
1 when ON/OFF = 1 and F/R = 0, Q

turn on, and the motor rotates

backwards. The cutter that has moved to the rear side is detected by cutter sensor 1,
and when CPS1 = 0, the motor stops. In either case, when the motor stops, Q

turn on, and the motor is stopped by short-circuiting.
