Drum Peripheral Equipment

The items listed below are located around the photoreceptor drum.
Items followed by an asterisk (*) are removed from under the top cover.
Note that the main charger, precharger, and the transfer/separator charger can be
removed without removing the drum plate.
Main charger (MCH)
Precharger (PCH)
Transfer/separator charger (TCH/SCH)
Discharge LED (Erase LEDs) (PEL)
Cleaning unit
Drum support roller
LED print head* (see page 4–132)
Drum surface potential sensor (DSPS)* (see page 4–139)
In the following sections, the removal procedures for the above-listed parts assume
that you have already removed the drum plate.
Main charger (MCH), precharger (PCH), transfer/separator charger (TCH/SCH)
Any of these chargers can be removed by loosening its thumbscrew and pulling it
toward you along the guide rail.
The transfer/separator charger (TCH/SCH) must be in its down position for
removal. If the transfer charger is not in its down position, turn the transfer
elevator driving shaft counterclockwise to lower the transfer charger to its
down position. (See "Photoreceptor Drum," on page 4–34.)
