Perforation Cutter Drive
The perforation cutter is a disc that is driven across the paper path by the cutter
motor. While the perforation cutter is operating, the printer also energizes the cutter
solenoid. When the cutter solenoid energizes, it moves the paper retainer, which
presses the paper. Together, the paper retainer and the scuff roller assembly press
the paper just before and just after the cutting position. This paper pressure assures
that the paper is cut when the perforation cutter moves across the paper.
