Password Programming
Programming the Rack-Mount
Modules
The Multi-Mount Rack has an Administration Port built into the
back. If you connect your computer to this Administration Port, you
can administer passwords and run diagnostics for all 12 Rack-
Mount Switch Modules.
NOTE:
Before you can program the Rack-Mount Modules, you must install
them into the Multi-Mount Rack. See Chapter 3, "Installation" for
the procedure to do this.
You administer the passwords by using the Password Manager
program. This program is not packaged with the Multi-Mount Rack
or the Rack-Mount Switch Module; you must order it separately
(PEC 2174-PSA[A]).
Connecting the Multi-Mount Extender
Rack to the Computer or Terminal
Connect one end of a straight-through RS-232 cable to the Com
Port on your computer and the other end to the DB9 Administration
Port on the Multi-Mount Rack.
