Introduction
The Switch Module emulates your telephone and the Remote
Module emulates your PBX. Each module features a V.32terbo
internal modem for the transmission of all signals between the two
modules. With the use of Lucent Technologies' DEFINITY
Extender system, the features and capabilities of your on-premise
telephones are extended to those off-premise.

Security Alert:
Using the Remote Module gains access to the features of
the DEFINITY ECS, including access to WATS lines, FX
lines, etc., which are subject to toll fraud. Guard passwords
carefully!
The Switch Module comes in two versions: the single standalone
module and the Rack-Mount Module that fits into the Multi-Mount
Extender Rack. Each Multi-Mount Rack can hold up to 12 Rack-
Mount Modules. Each Rack-Mount Module functions exactly like
the Standalone Switch Module.
NOTE:
In this guide, the standalone module is called the "Standalone
Switch Module," and the module inserted into the Multi-Mount Rack
is called the "DEFINITY Extender Rack-Mount Module" or simply
the "Rack-Mount Module." When information is the same for both
the Standalone and Rack-Mount Switch Modules, the term "Switch
Module" is used.
