    ® Product The ISDN DEFINITY Extender, Models 2300EU and ® 2100EU, extends a DEFINITY ECS to a remote site by Family using a Switch and a Remote Module, over one ISDN B- channel. The connection to the ISDN network is done via the built- in S/T interface.

    Speech is compressed to 32 Kbits ADPCM format and is combined with the telephone signaling data and COM port data for 2300EU. Once the installation has been completed, your Remote Module will enable your remotely located Lucent phone to function exactly like your deskset at the office.

    Configuring Using a Terminal The COM port is available on the 2300EU and 2100EU Configuring models for serial data communications. The 2300EU the COM multiplexes voice and data across the first B channel. On Port the 2100EU, the COM port uses the second B channel.

    Data Communications To use the COM port on the 2300EU for serial data Using the transmissions, you will require RS232 serial cables and RS232 COM data equipment. The COM port connection through the Port modules should be treated as a null modem serial cable.
