Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) handles the assignment
of IP parameters (Address, Netmask, Gateway) to all units in a network,
and allows for introducing new devices on the network with minimal
manual intervention. The assigned parameters are valid for a specific
"lease" time, at which point they can be reassigned or renewed. To
enable or disable DHCP, proceed as follows:
1. Select
from the menu. A flashing cursor appears in the field to

Ethernet Bridging

Ethernet Bridging is a feature that allows the radio to transparently
exchange Ethernet packets with other properly configured units. In this
way, locally-connected devices at the Master site (e.g., a PC or PLC) can
communicate via Ethernet with devices connected at Remote radios
(e.g., an RTU or other data device), and vise versa.
NOTE: To make use of Ethernet Bridging, the radio must be properly
authorized. If it is not, contact your sales representative for
further information. Bridging is only available on ES models.
Ethernet Bridging preserves the original overhead (i.e., Ethernet and IP
headers) of the Ethernet frames that are received from the only sup-
ported port: The RJ-45 Ethernet port. While this is a robust, full-featured
method of exchanging Ethernet data, it is not as efficient as the IP Pay-
load method described in "IP Payload Configuration Settings" on
Page 66. It also increases the chance of data collisions in a network.
