Situations that can be easily mistaken a projector defect (continued)
Phenomenon
Colors look
faded- out
or
Color tone is
poor.
Images are too
dark.
Images are
blurry.
The image is
degraded (e.g.
flickering or
stripes) on the
screen.

Situations not caused by a projector defect
Color settings are not correctly adjusted.
Perform image adjustments by changing the COLOR
TEMPERATURE, COLOR, TINT and/or COLOR SPACE settings,
using the menu features.
The COLOR SPACE setting is not correct.
Change the COLOR SPACE setting to AUTO, RGB,
SMPTE240, REC709 or REC601.
The brightness and/or contrast are adjusted to an
extremely low level.
Adjust BRIGHTNESS and/or CONTRAST settings to a
higher level using the menu feature.
The projector is in Low Power mode.
Set LOW POWER to DISABLE in the SETUP menu.
The lamp is approaching the end of its product lifetime.
Replace the lamp.
Either the focus and/or the horizontal phase settings
are not adjusted properly.
Adjust the focus using the focus ring, and/or PHASE using
the menu feature.
The lens is dirty or misty.
Clean the lens referring to the section Caring for the lens.
When the projector is operating in Low Power mode,
flickering may appear on screen.
Set LOW POWER to DISABLE in the SETUP menu.
The OVERSCAN ratio is too big.
Adjust OVERSCAN smaller in the IMAGE menu.
Excessive VIDEO NOISE REDUCTION.
Change the setting of VIDEO NOISE REDUCTION in the
INPUT menu.
