the data is backed up until it is sent to the off-site location.

13.7.4 Moving data from on-site to off-site

The commands explained in this section show how to move data from onsite to
off-site. Note that Tivoli Disaster Recovery Manager (see Chapter 19, "Disaster
Recovery Manager" on page 589) automatically performs most of the tape
movement operations described here, reducing the need for generating, testing,
and maintaining separate scripts.
For standalone tape drives (known as manual libraries in Tivoli Storage
Manager),, Tivoli Storage Manager sends messages to request that volumes be
mounted when they are needed. When Tivoli Storage Manager needs to write to
a tape, it first tries to write to a previously used tape in the storage pool with
enough room for new data (within the restrictions of collocation, if enabled). If
that is not possible, Tivoli Storage Manager asks to mount a SCRATCH (unused)
tape for use. In manual libraries, there is no inventory, that is, the command query
