Licensing has changed in V5.3. Although the server still reports the number of
various clients in use, you no longer have to explicitly register licenses per client
type. Instead, you have three licenses files available:
tsmbasic.lic for the Basic Edition of the server
tsmee.lic for the Extended edition of the server
dataret.lic for the IBM System Storage Archive Manager
The installation wizard will automatically perform conversion to the required
license status, since it removes the license files first and subsequently installs a
new license package. You can see the server license status in the bottom of
server console output, as shown in Example 22-2.
Note that if you upgraded the Tivoli Storage Manager Device Driver as well, the
installation wizard requires a reboot of the machine (see Figure 22-4).

After you have all packages installed and the machine is rebooted, start the
server instance in the foreground, as shown in Example 22-2. If everything
seems to be in order and you are not getting any errors, halt the server by
entering the halt command on the console prompt and continue applying the
5.3.2.2 patch.
