PPTP Tunneling

PPTP (Point to Point Tunneling Protocol) allows a PPP connection to be tunneled
through an IP network. To use PPTP Tunneling Protocol Service, a VPN (Virtual
Private Network) adapter needs to be installed on the PC connected to the
modem and you must know the required User name, password and IP address of
the VPN server.
The VPN PPP connection is established from the PC connected to the modem to
the VPN server on CO side. The PC and modem use PPTP to tunnel this PPP link
through a separate IP network running over Ethernet. The PC with a VPN client
functions as a PNS(PPTP Network Server), and modem acts as a PAC(PPTP
Access Concentrator).
To set the modem up in PPTP Tunneling mode, use the commands below:
1. Remove all of the existing module devices
SMC70032AE> config reset bridge
SMC70032AE> ip device flush
SMC70032AE> config reset ppp
SMC70032AE> config save
Saving configuration...Configuration saved.
SMC70032AE> restart
2. Set up the VPI value, VCI value, and the PPTP session information (User ID
and Password) provided by your service provider. The commands below
