Note: If the Subnet Mask is class C (255.255.255.0, or Hexadecimal
ff:ff:ff:00), the subnet command is not needed.

3. Set up the VPI value, VCI value, and information (User ID and Password)
provided by your ISP. The commands below assume that the service
provider has assigned the following values: User ID is "smc70032ae",
password is "1234", CHAP is used for authentication, VPI="0", and
VCI="35".

Note: In this example using device 1 and interface 1, the default function of
the router is to automatically add the WAN IP information when the modem is
linked. Once the modem has linked and authenticated, the IP configuration for
the routing interface will be completed since the modem acts as a DHCP client
when in PPPoA Routed mode. If the values of ID, password, VPI, or VCI
change, then re-enter the above commands related to PPP with the new,
correct information.
4. After finishing the configuration, the ADSL Sync stable, indicated by a solid
ADSL Sync LED.
You can now check the PPP interface information by using the following
command:
