Label
Defines how the duplex configuration is reported to the host and
how it is used.
Auto: Report that the duplexer unit is installed and print duplex
when requested.
Duplex
Always: Always report the duplexer is installed. Since the
printer will always have a duplexer, printing will always be in
duplex even if the print file is defined as simplex.
Disabled: Pages will always be in simplex.
Parameter setting used to inhibit exception and intervention
reporting (check box):
VPA Exceptions: When enabled (box checked), position errors
outside of the Valid Printing Area (VPA) are not reported to the
host and the page is printed with clipping. This setting overrides
the Exception Handling Control in the IPDS data stream. When
disabled, the errors will be reported to the host.
NOTE: In order for VPA exceptions to be reported to the host,
the printer file on the AS400 must have the FIDELITY
parameter set to ABSOLUTE. The FIDELITY setting on the
AS400 printer is included in XOA-EHC command from the host
Reporting
to the printer, which controls error reporting. For FIDELITY=
Suppression
*ABSOLUTE, printing stops when errors are found. For
FIDELITY=*CONTENT, printing continues when errors are
found.
Undefined Character Exceptions: When enabled (box
checked), undefined character exceptions are not reported to
the host and the page is printed. This setting overrides the
Exception Handling Control in the IPDS data stream.
Intervention Required: When enabled (box checked),
Intervention Required messages are not sent to the host. This
setting overrides the Exception Handling Control in the IPDS
data stream.
When set to Host, the responsibility for paper jam recovery is
delegated to the host. Same as InfoPrint 70 functionality.
When set to Printer, paper jam errors are reported to the host as
Jam
"printer not ready" and the printer has responsibility for recovery.
Recovery
In either case, the Jam Recovery setting on the OCP (and
duplicated on the System>General>Options web page) is
ignored for IPDS operation.
