Output Bin Cascading
Container Stacker Output Bins may be grouped together and selected using a common IPDS Tray
Number. Output Bin groups are established by setting the IPDS Tray Number for all members of the
group to the desired common value. An Output Bin group will accept only media with a common size
and feed direction.
The priority of the group members is established by the position of the output bin in the Bin Map table.
The priority sequence is as follows (highest priority first): CS5, CS6, CS7 and CS8. The bin with the
highest priority will be the first to accept media. When this bin becomes full, the output will cascade to
the next empty bin in the priority sequence. If a different sized media is printed to the group ID, that
paper will be delivered to the next empty bin within the priority sequence.
The elevator and sample trays cannot be included in a group.
:
NOTE
If an error condition occurs or exists within a set of grouped bins, which does not prohibit
printing, the printer will cascade to other bins outside the group, providing those bins are of
like size and empty. Examples of the errors, which would cause this to occur are: a hardware
fault of the container stacker, Table not ready, Basket not set, and Door open.
