The Relay Request function is used to transmit the same documents to more
than one location through a relay broadcast machine.
It is only possible when the intermediate relay machine is a Sharp-brand model
having the Relay Broadcast function. (As of Sept. 1988, these models were the
FO-800 and 3200.) By using a relay machine that is in closer proximity to the
end-receiving units than your FO-220, phone line costs can be substantially
reduced overall.
The documents sent from the FO-220 with the Relay Request function are stored
in the memory of the relay machine, where they are then transmitted to one
end-receiving unit after another.
