3. Voice Communication when Operation has Stopped

In any of the following cases, the transmission/reception operation stops and
the unit automatically enters talk mode.
When transmission/reception is stopped by pressing the STOP/C key.

When the documents are transmitted that are longer than machine specifi-
l
cations
When the recording paper runs out (during reception).

When the recording head overheats (during reception).

Operation has stopped.
The talk request alarm sounds and "LIFT
HANDSET THEN PRESS TALK" is dis-
played on the LCD.
If the remote party does not respond, the
l
machine will return to the standby mode.
2. Pick-up the handset and press the TALK
key.
Voice communication with the person at
the remote unit is initiated after a few
seconds.
Pinpoint the problem (refer to "Trouble-
shooting", p.112).
3. When voice communication is finished,
replace the handset.
To resume transmission or reception once
the problem is corrected, the receiving
operator should press their START key first.
The transmitting operator should press
their START key after hearing a fax tone on
the line.
Both operators should hang-up once the
transaction begins.
