E. All Voice Terminals Have No Lights and No Dial Tone (Entire
System Down)
Unplug the control unit from the ac power outlet and plug it in again
Step 1.
Check the red WARNING light and the green POWER light in the upper left
Step 2.
corner of the control unit.
The green POWER light is on and the
red WARNING light is off,
Both lights are off,
Trouble remains or the red WARN-
ING light is on,

GENERAL QUICK CHECKS

When the symptom does not appear in the Symptom-Based Quick Checks listed above and
when the cause of trouble has not yet been found, make the following general checks of your
system.
Look at the red WARNING light in the upper left corner of the control unit.
Step 1.
Warning:
A cartridge is installed and the red
WARNING light is flashing or on,
A cartridge is not installed and the
red WARNING light is on,
The trouble remains,
IF
Unplug control unit power cord from ac outlet before insert-
ing or removing a cartridge.
IF
THEN
The control unit indications are now
normal. If the voice terminal trouble
remains, go on to the General Quick
Checks.
Make certain that the ac outlet is sup-
plying power (not under control of a
wall switch). You can do this by plug-
ging a lamp into the ac outlet.
Go on to the General Quick Checks.
THEN
Unplug the control unit. Remove and
replace each cartridge securely.
Plug the control unit into the power
outlet. If the trouble is not cleared, go
on to Step 2.
Unplug the power cord of the control
unit and then plug it in again. This
will reset the control unit and may
correct the trouble.
Go on to Step 2.
