Upgrade and downgrade considerations

If you downgrade to a version of Fabric OS that does not support FC-FC Routing Services, your FC-FC
routing configuration will be lost. HP recommends that you issue the configUpload command to save
your FC-FC routing configuration before performing any downgrades.
Fabric OS 6.0.x and earlier releases do not support EX_Ports on 8-Gbps ports. Downgrades are not
allowed on platforms with 8-Gbps EX_Ports.
For further instructions on downgrading, see

How replacing port blades affects EX_Port configuration

If you replace an FR4- 1 8i blade with an 8-Gbps port blade, the EX_Port configuration remains the same for
the first 16 ports on the 8-Gbps port blade. For all other ports on the blade, the EX_Port configuration is
cleared. No ports are persistently disabled.
If you replace an 8-Gbps port blade with an FR4- 1 8i blade, the EX_Port configuration remains the same for
all ports on the FR4- 1 8i blade. All ports are persistently disabled.
