Your server must be operated with a control panel installed.
1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See
Information" on page
2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable.
3. Remove the server system cover. For instructions, see
System Cover" on page
4. Remove the power supply cables from the cable harness.
5. (optional) For easier access, lift the power supply from place.
Note: For ease of access, lift the front panel board from the server before disconnecting the
cables.
6. Remove the screw that attaches the front panel board to the server system. See
letter "A" in the figure below. Save these screws. You will re-install them later.
7. Slide the front panel board rearward and then lift it from the server. See letter "B"
in the figure.
Caution: When disconnecting the cables to the front panel board, be careful not to bend or twist the
board.
8. Disconnect the front panel cable and the USB cables from the front panel board.
For ease of identification, the USB cables are two different colors. Note which
color is attached to which server board. See letter "C" in the figure.
