SMTP gateway page

Note
This SMTP gateway information only applies to the HP LaserJet
4100mfp and 9000mfp.

What is the SMTP gateway?

The SMTP gateways are a required part of HP DSS Workflow
configuration. The HP DSS Workflow server uses the gateway list to
route e-mail messages to mail servers for delivery to e-mail
addresses.
The e-mail servers are listed by priority. The HP DSS Workflow
attempts a connection to each server, starting from the top of the list,
until a connection is made.

Add an SMTP gateway button

Add an SMTP gateway by clicking Add. Add the SMTP gateways by
using the server IP address or the server network name, or specify
the IP port number for each SMTP gateway. The default gateway
value is set to port 25.

Edit an SMTP gateway button

Select any SMTP gateway entry and click Edit to modify the SMTP
server address.

Remove an SMTP gateway button

Select any SMTP gateway entry from the list and click Remove to
remove the gateway from the prioritized list of gateways. The system
prompts for confirmation before removing any entry. After an entry is
removed, the operation cannot be undone.

Test an SMTP gateway button

Test each SMTP gateway by selecting the gateway and clicking the
Test button. The test consists of opening the SMTP gateway port to
the server and sending a test message to ensure that a valid SMTP
gateway exists. A message that confirms the status of the gateway
appears.
