File renaming schema FVR strings
Use table 4-20 to build a file-renaming schema for any output file path
name attribute on components that support file-renaming schemas
(for example, Folder Store).
Note
Spaces are not valid in the file-naming schema.
The file-renaming schema FVR can only appear when the component
supports file-renaming schemas. (Look for the "Rename" check box on
the component attribute list). Also note that ASCII characters can be
combined with the FVR values listed below to create a file name (for
example, "My%fApplicationTag_%c.%e").
Table 4-20. FVR strings and descriptions

62 Chapter 4 - Configuration
FVR string
Description
%f[field name]
Use field name to reference a
field; for example,
"%fApplicationTag" refers to the
value of the ApplicationTag field
in an .hps file.
%c
A counter that is used when a
duplicate file is encountered. For
example, use "myfile%c.tif" to
create "myfile.tif" if no file in the
destination matches "myfile.tif",
and to create "myfile1.tif" if a
duplicate is found.
%n
The original file name. This is
used to refer back to the source
file name. For example, %n%c.tif
generates
<originalfilename>duplicate
counter.tif as the destination file.
(See the preceding information
about the FVR string %c
[duplicate counter] for further
explanation.)
%e
The file original file extension.
