text box—In Macintosh dialog boxes, a rectangular field into
which you can type new text (for example, a file name) or make
changes to ("edit") existing text. For example, in the TextBridge
Pro training toolbar, suspect words appear in a text box for your
acceptance or correction. It is a standard text box, in that you can
select a point inside the text string to type new text; alternatively,
you can highlight part or all of the text string and type over it.
You can cut and paste text, and so on. Refer to Macintosh
documentation for more information about edit boxes and other
graphical user interface conventions.
TIFF image—A representation of one or more pages or graphics
stored in Tag Image File Format, an industry-standard image
format. TextBridge Pro can recognize text from page images
stored in several variations of binary (black and white) TIFF:

TIFF Uncompressed
TIFF CCITT-3
TIFF CCITT-4
TIFF Packbits
Training—An interactive capability of TextBridge Pro that
enables you to view words as they are being recognized, and
either correct or accept TextBridge Pro's recognition decision. As
you train TextBridge Pro on recognized words, you help the
program improve its recognition for the rest of the document.
TWAIN—A protocol and application programming interface
which define standard means for acquiring raster data from
sources such as scanners and fax boards. This means that only
one TWAIN interface is necessary to drive multiple TWAIN-
compliant devices. TextBridge Pro provides a copy of the TWAIN
source manager, which you can use to access the TWAIN source
provided by your scanner manufacturer.
TWAIN source—A file that drives a scanner using the TWAIN
protocol. TextBridge provides a copy of the TWAIN source
manager; TWAIN sources are provided and supported by the
scanner manufacturer.
