When you receive a document—a memo, letter, invoice, receipt,
and so on—consider whether you can scan the document into
your computer and throw away the original.
Over time, the more documents that you scan and store electron-
ically, the fewer that will be cluttering your office or home.
When you install Pagis Pro, it creates the Pagis Inbox on your
desktop. This is the default location for your scanned documents.
In the Pagis Inbox are a number of Pagis Folders for organizing
your scanned documents:
Business Materials
Finances
Home
Magazine Articles
Photographs
Recipes
You can specify any of these folders as the storage location for
your scanned documents.
Alternatively, you can create additional folders to store your
documents, and locate these folders anywhere in your Windows
file system.
When you scan a document, you have the option of assigning
Author, Title, and Keyword entries to it. You also have the option
of adding it to an existing search index on your system for later
search and retrieval.
Additionally, with Pagis Pro tools, any document that is stored on
your system as a XIF file can be copied, faxed, edited, and so on.
Using TextBridge OCR built into Pagis Pro, you can also extract
text from XIF files and export it to your word processor,
spreadsheet, or other text-based programs.
